Industrial robots are important intelligent equipment for intelligent manufacturing, and are known as "the jewel at the top of the manufacturing crown." To get rid of low-end manufactured labels, China attaches great importance to the development of industrial robots.
In recent years, with the continuous advancement of concepts such as Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025, China's industrial robot industry has developed well. The market share of domestic industrial robots has been monopolized by foreign brands for the first time, and can now occupy more than 30% of the market share in the domestic market.
According to the goals set by the "Robot Industry Development Plan (2016-2020)", by 2020, the annual output of independent brand industrial robots will reach 100,000 units, and the annual output of six-axis and above industrial robots will reach more than 50,000 units, cultivating 3 The above-mentioned internationally competitive leading enterprises have created more than 5 robot supporting industrial clusters.
Up to now, the goal of annual production of China's own brand industrial robots reaching 100,000 units has been achieved. In the first 10 months of 2017, a total of more than 100,000 industrial robots were produced, and it is expected that the annual production in 2017 will exceed 120,000 units.

China's industrial robot output
In addition, the goal of planning to build more than 5 robot supporting industrial clusters has basically been achieved. At present, the Bohai Rim Robot Industrial Cluster represented by Shenyang Xinsong, the Yangtze River Delta Robot Industrial Cluster represented by Shanghai ’s foreign brands, and the Wuhu Hefei Maanshan Robot Industrial Cluster represented by Wuhu Eft have been formed in China. Take the Guangzhou CNC and Dongguan Qifan as representatives of the Pearl River Delta Robot Industry Cluster, the Chongqing Liangjiang New District as the representative of the Western Robot Industry Cluster, and the emerging Central China City Cluster Robot Industry Cluster represented by Wuhan, Changsha, and Nanchang.

China Industrial Robot Industry Cluster
Although the four main indicators mentioned in the plan have basically achieved two, there is still a big gap between the status of the other two indicators and the target. The development of China's industrial robot industry still has a long way to go.
First of all, the annual output of six-axis and above industrial robots reaches more than 50,000 units, and there are great challenges in achieving this goal. As far as the status quo is concerned, without considering the proportion of six-axis and above industrial robots, the installation of domestic brand multi-joint robots has just broken 10,000 units. In addition, in the case of a lower market share, even if the annual output of six-axis and above industrial robots is raised, where should the excess capacity and output go? It is still a haze over the development path of industrial robots in China.

Installation quantity of multi-joint industrial robots and domestic proportion
In addition, cultivating more than three leading companies with international competitiveness will also bring great pressure to achieve this goal. From the perspective of global competition, at present, only Xinsong can be regarded as a leading enterprise with international competitiveness, but from a business perspective, Xinsong can be called an internationally competitive enterprise in terms of AGV and system integration, but Regardless of its market share or brand influence, its industrial robots also have a gap with the internationally competitive leading companies. Due to Midea's acquisition of KUKA, if KUKA is regarded as a domestic brand, Midea can still be called a leading company with international competitiveness. Of course, similar domestic well-known robot companies such as Shanghai Xinsida, Gago, and Tiantian have the potential to grow into internationally competitive leading companies after Xinsong. Strictly speaking, we do not yet have a leading enterprise that has grown up locally and has international competitiveness.
So, in order to achieve the goal of "Robot Industry Development Plan (2016-2020)", where should China's industrial robot industry develop in the next three years? OFweek Industry Research Center believes that on the basis of the development status of China's industrial robots, the policy guidance in 2018 should be adjusted from a quantitative upgrade to a qualitative upgrade.

First, improve the "quality" of industrial robots. To increase the proportion of six-axis and above industrial robots in the output of industrial robots, the realization of this point requires simultaneous efforts from both the production capacity and the market.
In terms of production capacity, there are two ways to increase domestic production capacity. (1) The self-built factories represented by Xinsida have increased production capacity; (2) The production capacity has been increased in cooperation with the regions represented by Xinsong and Harbin Institute of Technology.
Expansion of production in a new factory can reduce the cost of a single robot through scale effect, which has greater financial pressure on enterprises; expanding production capacity by cooperating with regional industrial parks can reduce the financial pressure of enterprises in the short term, but Not conducive to the reduction of the cost of a single robot. 50,000 sets of six-axis and above industrial robots produce more than 3 leading enterprises. The production capacity of a single enterprise must be at least 10,000 units in order to be eligible for future competition.
In addition, while increasing production capacity, it is also an important part to lead the market. In recent years, while the production capacity of local robots has increased, international robot brands have also increased production capacity in China. If the market cannot consume excess production capacity in time, the excess production capacity will be a disaster for the Chinese industrial robot industry. The essence of capacity increase is to reduce the cost of companies purchasing robot parts and to promote the development of local robots and robot parts, rather than want to see overcapacity stifling China's industrial robot industry at the budding stage.
Therefore, in 2018, the national policy is expected to work simultaneously in the direction of increasing the production capacity of six-axis and above industrial robots and stimulating the demand for industrial robots from terminals.
Second, improve the "quality" of the robot industry cluster. Third, improve the "quality" of leading enterprises. Clusters and enterprises have the same emphasis, so they can be discussed together.
For agglomeration areas and enterprises, the increase in quantity itself is also a manifestation of the "qualitative" improvement. Driven by a number of enterprises, major industrial robot companies in the market may follow up on the strategy of capacity increase; on the issue of how to release new capacity, mergers Reorganization and strategic cooperation are inevitable. Major industrial robot companies will give priority to mergers and acquisitions with downstream integrators, or high-quality integrators to merge with industrial robot ontology companies, or reach strategic cooperation. Some integrators may be worried about the "not good-looking" when mergers and acquisitions of industrial robot companies bring financial consolidation, and will be willing to develop in a coordinated manner through strategic cooperation. In addition, improving product diversity and expanding product lines are also key tasks in 2018. Of course, increasing research and development efforts to enhance the product's hard power will run through the entire process.
Throughout the text, the core point is actually the increase in volume. At different times, the increase in the overall market volume was the main line in the early stage, and in the second half after the volume target was achieved, it will be the increase in the volume of high-quality enterprises and high-quality products. How to expand the production capacity, especially the output of six-axis and above industrial robots, will become the key to whether the industrial robot manufacturers can stand out as internationally competitive leading enterprises in the next three years.
